Iranian film ‘The Descendants’ has received the best foreign film award at an event in the US state of Michigan.

Iranian director Yaser Talebi’s film ‘The Descendants’ brought home the award from the event, which was held in Royal Oak, Michigan, from October 12-15.

Also written by Talebi, ‘The Descendants’ is about the dynamics of a family relationship. Jacob’s family worries about Farrokh, the son of the family. Farrokh left Iran to continue his studies abroad, but he has not been in touch with them for a long time. Jacob travels to Sweden to look for his son.

Talebi’s movie has so far received a number of international awards, including Best Feature Film at the 14th Accolade Global Film Competition Award in the US and Best Picture at the 3rd Ammar Popular Film Festival in Iran.

Some of the film's accolades include taking home the awards for Best Film from Pembroke Taparelli Arts and Film Festival as well as Best Actor from Franklin County International Film Festival with both events held in the US.
